We had the great honor of hosting Grandmaster Moy Yee Hop at our prestigious Fort Lauderdale Mo-gwoon. As a highly respected figure in the martial arts community and leader of the Moy Yee Hop Kung Fu family, his teachings and inspiring leadership have left a lasting impact.

During his stay, Grandmaster Moy Yee Hop engaged our students in insightful discussions about the principles and theories of the Ving Tsun Kung Fu system. He challenged their knowledge with thought-provoking questions and generously shared his wisdom about their personal Kung Fu journeys and the system as a whole. We are privileged to have him as a Sifu to our esteemed instructors, Sifu James and assistant instructor Torch.

During his lecture, Grandmaster Moy Yee Hop graciously imparted his vast knowledge and insights on the study of Ving Tsun Kung Fu, which he acquired from the esteemed Patriarch Moy Yat back in the early 1970s. His recollection of captivating stories from his personal journey in Kung Fu left a lasting impression on all who attended.

Sifu Julian, as he prefers to be addressed, dedicated himself to studying Ving Tsun Kung Fu under the tutelage of Patriarch Moy Yat in both Brooklyn and New York's China Town. As one of the first senior students (representing the First Generation in America) of Moy Yat's lineage, Grandmaster had the privilege of serving as an official translator and close companion during their travels together. It was during this time that he diligently translated the Muk Yan Jong Book into Spanish.

With much honor bestowed upon him by Moy Yat himself, Sifu Moy Yee Hop became the first non-Chinese individual authorized to teach this profound system within the United States. In 1976, he established his inaugural school in White Plains, New York. This remarkable lineage has provided Sifu with an unparalleled understanding of Ving Tsun in its purest form and has fueled his unwavering desire to disseminate this knowledge among students genuinely interested in Chinese martial arts and embracing a kung fu way of life. With over four decades of teaching experience under his belt, Sifu has now graced South Florida with his expertise for more than ten years.

The lecture delivered by Grandmaster Moy Yee Hop was not only an invaluable learning experience, but it also served as a profound source of inspiration and motivation for all those in attendance. His unwavering passion for Kung Fu and unwavering commitment to sharing his knowledge left a lasting impression on the students of the Fort Lauderdale Mo-gwoon. The participants were immensely grateful for the privilege of learning from a genuine master and carrying forth the teachings of Grandmaster Moy Yee Hop.

Following the lecture, we had the privilege of accompanying the esteemed Kung Fu family to our preferred Chinese restaurant in the local Fort Lauderdale area for an exquisite dining experience featuring authentic Chinese cuisine and delectable Dim Sum. The students relished every bite and cherished the camaraderie shared during this delightful gathering.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Grandmaster Moy Yee Hop for gracing us with his presence and sincerely hope that he will grace us with another visit in the foreseeable future.
